The right-of-way plat and relocation order are recorded at the courthouse and provide public notice of acquisitions for projects.
The right-of-way plat provides a map showing the acquisitions and lists each acquisition with a parcel number on the schedule of interests. The schedule of interests shows the surveyed acreage being acquired from each parcel impacted by the project.
Other items indicated on the right-of-way plat include access control, property lines, building footprints, commercial signage, fencing, and stations for the design plan and profiles.
During the appraisal inspection, the appraiser matches symbols on the right-of-way plat with project staking on the ground.
In doing so, the appraiser can determine what landscaping and site improvements will be acquired from each parcel on the project.
